Ascot sign long-term deal with Turf TV
Turf TV announced this morning that it has signed a new long-term agreement for the Licensed Betting Office (LBO) media rights of Ascot Racecourse.
The new contract is for five years and will commence on the expiry of the current agreements in April 2013, running until March 31 2018.
Turf TV’s managing director Adrian Ford said: “This is excellent news, both for Turf TV and its customers. Signing up Ascot means all 31 UK racecourses that currently form the backbone of the Turf TV service are now contracted to us for the long-term. That, in turn, ensures we continue to deliver on our core objective of bringing the best of British racing to the LBO audience.
“As everyone who watched Royal Ascot in betting shops last week will have seen, there is no flat meeting quite like it for driving excitement and, of course, betting turnover. The course’s other meetings – including, of course, the King George in a few weeks time – are also vital parts of the racing calendar, and events that we at Turf TV are proud to screen.”
Ascot Chief Executive Charles Barnett added: “We’re delighted to have signed up again with Turf TV after three years of solid partnership and achievement, and look forward to continuing to work closely with Adrian Ford and his team.”
